RLCR yard sale to begin
OKEECHOBEE — The Real Life Children’s Ranch, 7777 U.S. 441, yard sale will open on Wednesday, Dec. 2, through Dec. 4. It will also be open on the first Saturday of each month, so it will be open on Dec. 5. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All customers are asked to please wear a mask.
Legion hosts events
OKEECHOBEE — American Legion Post #64, 501 S.E. Second St., will hosts the following events: Margarita and Taco day will be held on Wednesday, On Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and the grill and lunch served all day. On Friday Dec. 4, join the RED Shirt Challenge. A fish fry will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Karaoke KOP, Kevin Stripling from 6 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 5, is Sporting Saturday. Happy Hour all day and buckets of domestic beer all day. On Sunday, Dec. 6, is Sporting weekend NFL games with drafts and chicken wing specials. On Monday Dec. 7, is five-card bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. Lunch is served starting at 11 a.m. Top shelf Tuesday, Dec. 8. Sign up for your choice of any bottle in stock drawn the first Tuesday of each month. Bloody Marys and buckets of domestic beer specials all day. Lunch served all day. OKEECHOBEE — VFW POST 4424, 300 N.W. 34th St., will hold the following events: Three-card bingo will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 1 p.m. Dauber bingo is Thursday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. Dauber bingo is Friday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m. Catfish dinners served at 6 p.m. Karaoke with Bobbi at 7 p.m. Dauber bingo is Saturday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. Stop in for a cold beverage on Sunday, Dec. 6. Amvets Post 200 holds events
OKEECHOBEE — Amvets Post 200, 3651 S.E. U.S. 441, Bay 6, Quarter bingo will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. Queen of Hearts will be held at 5 p.m. Five card bingo will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. A birthday party will be held for Commander Jim, Dennis and Sue on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m. There will be food, music by Saxman and lots of fun. Tickets available for the rifle auction for the Okeechobee Veteran’s Council. Toys for local kids box. Please bring an unwrapped gift for a child. Open to members and guests. COVID-19 testing available
MOORE HAVEN — The Glades County Health Department, 1021 Health Park Drive, will provide free drive-thru COVID-19 testing to adults and children over 5 years of age on Monday, Dec. 7, from 9 to 11 a.m. Children must have parent consent. No criteria or restrictions for testing. Open testing, no appointments needed.
TFP to hold virtual meeting
GLADES COUNTY — Glades County residents are invited to attend the virtual Glades County Tobacco-Free Partnership (TFP) Quarterly Meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 3:30 p.m. For information on how to register for the meeting, call 863-265-6055. Donations sought for wreaths
BUCKHEAD RIDGE — On Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11:30 a.m. the Buckhead Ridge VFW Post 9528 will host the Glades County Wreaths across America placement of wreaths on 354 veterans’ graves at Ortona Cemetery, 8898 West SR 78. The Post is asking for a donation of $15 each, and three wreaths for $30. Waste Management Amnesty
CLEWISTON/LABELLE — Hendry County Waste Management, in conjunction with the City of LaBelle and the City of Clewiston, will be hosting waste management Amnesty for Hendry County residents from Friday, Dec. 7, through Thursday, Dec. 12, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. No commercial waste accepted at the Clewiston Transfer Station, 1350 Olympia Ave. and at LaBelle Transfer Station, 1360 Forestry Division Road.
Kiwanis reschedules Kids’ Day
LABELLE — LaBelle Kiwanis Club’s Annual Kids’ Day event has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23, at Barron Park, 1559 De Soto Ave. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
