Bob's Bicycle Basics donates to OCSO Ride to Work Program

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Mr. Bob is the man! Bob's Bicycle Basics 863-447-9116 is a local bike repair shop in Okeechobee that has generously donated 19 bicycles to our ( Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office) "Ride to Work" program. This donation was in response to the recent post calling for donations of slightly used or new bikes.

Mr. Bob, the shop owner, has donated countless times in the past, and his generosity is greatly appreciated by all of us. We have enjoyed getting to know him over the past few years, and he is genuinely a fantastic soul.

Thank you, Mr. Bob, for all the great work you do at Bob's Bicycle Basics, improving and changing lives.

How can you get a bike?

We have joined forces with the Career Source Heartland Okeechobee Career Center, located at 207 SW Park St. in Okeechobee, to offer bicycles to people actively seeking employment. This program is also open to those who are currently employed but need transportation. They can be reached at 863-610-6000 and will be happy to assist you in finding employment or getting reliable transportation with our program.

Thanks to the community support and solid partnerships Sheriff Noel Stephen and his team have established, along with unique souls like Mr. Bob, this life-changing program has become possible.

We appreciate everyone who has been involved.
OCSO, Mr. Bobs Bicycles
