BofA donates $20,000 to Champions For Learning’s student programs

Posted

NAPLES — The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently granted $20,000 to The Education Foundation of Collier County - Champions For Learning to help invest in students’ educational success. Bank of America’s investment has provided Champions For Learning the resources needed to serve more students and provide highly effective college and career access programming for students in Collier County.

“The Education Foundation of Collier County – Champions For Learning is thrilled to have the support of Bank of America in helping serve as a catalyst for student educational success,” said Barbara Evans, president and CEO, Champions For Learning. “It is because of Bank of America’s generosity that we as the Education Foundation can better help more students within our community.”

Bank of America will also offer a Better Money Habits financial education class to Champions For Learning students and their parents. This class helps students learn how to manage a budget and save for their future.

In addition to the $20,000 grant, Bank of America has provided $16,000 to help support two paid internships at Champions For Learning this summer. Through Champions For Learning, interns will develop and apply their leadership skills through hands-on work experience, while raising their awareness of community issues.

By working with Champions For Learning, Bank of America is providing essential financial support to Collier County students who are working to further their education and positively impact their community. Champions For Learning is just one of 10 Southwest Florida nonprofits the bank is supporting in the first round of economic mobility grants awarded to local nonprofits throughout the year, helping the bank drive meaningful and sustainable progress to help tackle society’s biggest challenges.
