The Princess and the Pea at the Dolly Hand

BELLE GLADE — What do Glacierdom and Riverdom have in common? The Leprechauns know! Get a new look at a classic story when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 30 local students present an original musical adaptation of “The Princess and the Pea.”

The local cast features Khalia Thomas as the Princess and Kayleanna Bankhead as the Pea. The four leprechauns will be played by Jazlyn Forester, Blair Stone, Kyra Ransom and Sophia Gomez-Gonzalez. Also featured are the Royal Family Members of Riverdom, King and Queen Size who will be played by Abigail Smith, and Peyton Grace. The Royal Family of Glacierdom, Storm King, Snow Queen and the Prince will be played by Alfonso Garcia, Lauren Picket and Noah Messam. Jack Frost, the troublesome cousin of the Prince, will be played by Trent Stone. The Wannabe Princesses include Halie Bankhead, Emily Sanchez, Miley Paul and Melanie Mendoza. The Citizens of Riverdom will be played by Solana Sharpe, Amelia Molina, Maliyah Mendoza, Chaniyah Marshall and Serenity Pryor. The citizens of Glacierdom will be played by Emily Paul, Izabella Cardenas, Faith Jackson and Ariyonna McCloud. To complete the ensemble, Jayvian Webb, Isabella Martinez, Amalia Rojas, Thachana Charles, Tamia Lane, Curtis Marshall, Kavain Webb, Isabella Mendoza, Isaiah Mendoza and Alyssa Longoria will appear as the dancing Dust Bunnies. Catherine Vazquez and Nick Morris have served as assistant directors throughout the week.

“The Princess and the Pea” will be presented on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center at Palm Beach State College’s Glades Campus. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12 and are available at the box office at 561-993-1160.
