See the ‘Christmas star’ tonight

Posted

According to astronomers, Jupiter and Saturn will align in the night sky tonight, Dec. 21, the winter solistice. The two planets will appear as a double planet in the night sky. The phenomena is also called a conjunction.

According to astronomers, this won’t happen again until 2080.

The best time to spot the conjunction is right after sunset. Look toward the southwest. The sun will set around 5:40 p.m. The best time to see the conjunction will be between 6 and 7 p.m.

According to astronomers, it will be the closest Jupiter-Saturn pairing since 1623.
