OKEECHOBEE -- The following felony cases have either been tried in a court of law or have been settled without trial and are considered closed.

• Geneva Guyton was sentenced to five months and 20 days in the county jail followed by two years probation after pleading no contest to two charges battery on law enforcement after slapping one deputy and pushing another.

• Audrey Fink was sentenced to one year probation after pleading no contest to charges of criminal mischief and battery. Fink was arrested in July of 2020 after she and several other women went to the home of Fink’s child’s father and assaulted a woman. The incident was videotaped on a cell phone and sent to the victim. The victim’s cell phone was destroyed during the attack, leading to the criminal mischief charge.

• Garrett Fowler was sentenced to five years in state prison after pleading no contest to the charge battery by detainee. Fowler was arrested in October 2019 after attacking another inmate. Fowler was in jail on charges of criminal mischief, felony battery causing great bodily harm and armed burglary when the incident happened. Fowler entered a plea of no contest to the felony battery charge, and the other charges were dropped. He was sentenced to five years in state prison on that charge as well and will be serving the sentences concurrently. Those charges came about in March of 2019 after he punched a woman several times and then punched a car window, shattering it and cutting his hand.

• Errol Smith was sentenced to six months probation after pleading no contest to the charge of battery. Smith was originally charged with two counts of aggravated battery and aggravated assault with a weapon, but those charges were dropped. Smith was arrested in November of 2019 after breaking a door down and hitting a woman in the head with a hammer twice.

• Nicole Vandiver was sentenced to one year probation after pleading no contest to a charge of felony battery. Vandiver was arrested in November 2019 after she hit a juvenile in the knee with a knife causing a gash in his knee. Despite the fact the two were having an argument, a witness said he felt the act was accidental and not intentional.
