LABELLE - LaBelle High Schools Boys Weightlifting program hosted the 2A District 16 Championship on March 31, which had five schools and sixty lifters in attendance.
The Cowboys dominated and were the 2021 District Champions, scoring eighty-three team points. Senior Hector Zuniga claimed the 154 weight class District individual championship, Sophomore Maurice McClain Jr. claimed the 183 weight class District individual championship, Freshman Champ Thompson claimed the 219 weight class District individual championship, and Senior Joshua White claimed the 238 weight class District individual championship. The Cowboys have 17 lifters moving on to compete in the 2A Region 4 Championship on April 8 at Charlotte High School in Punta Gorda. Start time for this event is 11:30 a.m. admission is $7.
