Anonymous donor hires soon-to-open hometown BBQ restaurant to feed people in need

Posted

CLEWISTON – As COVID cases rise and the holidays approach an anonymous donor will deliver some holiday cheer to Clewiston residents this weekend.

Earlier this week an unnamed donor called on Samuel Edwards, owner and head chef of soon-to-open Staghorn Kitchen in Clewiston, to help feed nearby families in need. The donor hired the eatery to prepare 200 meals to be handed out Saturday, Dec.19. The newly formed Staghorn Kitchen team plan to have all hands-on deck preparing plates of Florida style barbecue and home style favorites at their unopened restaurant in Clewiston. The donor organized for the Clewiston Police Department to retrieve the hot meals and deliver them to people in-need.

“We are extremely grateful to have been hired to carry out such a thoughtful and generous gift to the community we will soon serve” said Edwards. “At the same time, it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to fine-tune our kitchen dynamic before we officially open in the coming weeks” he said.

Staghorn Kitchen’s debut to public will be later this month. The hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. For additional information, visit www.staghornkitchen.com or follow Staghorn Kitchen on Instagram and Facebook at @staghornkitchen.
