Vaccination update on the agenda

OKEECHOBEE  -- Okeechobee County Commissioners will hear an update on the county's COVID-19 vaccination program at their regular meeting on Feb. 24. The meeting, in the Historic Okeechobee County Courthouse, 304 N.W. Second Street, will start at 9 a.m.

The board will also receive an update on the Okeechobee County Airport Fixed Based Operator Transition and approve the plan for aviation fuel sales.

They will also be asked to approve  the expenditure of $45,872 to replace one of the playgrounds at the Douglas Brown Community Center and accept the grant award of $24,098.50 toward that project.

 In other business, the board will make appointments to the Agri-Civic Center Advisory Committee, the Construction Licensing Board, the Library Advisory Board, the Okeechobee Utility Authority and the Planning Board/Board of Adjustments.
