Seminole 4-H youth prepare for online sale

Posted

IMMOKALEE- As members of the Seminole Indian 4-H, local youth have been focused on their 4-H livestock projects, in order to get them to the big sale. Held every year, the big sale is the culmination of each young entrepreneur’s hard work and dedication, having invested lots of love, time and energy into their hogs, heifers, and steers. This year, due to the complications surrounding the pandemic, the sale will be held online.

This week, before the online sale, the kids have begun making videos that explain what they learned, and how they took care of their livestock. For many of these kids, selling their livestock project will be their first real transaction in the business world. The first time they will have sold a product for a profit.

Many of them will invest their hard earned money into a savings account to go toward college tuition, which is why investing in 4-H youth, by bidding on their animals, is so rewarding and important.
