Pair arrested, charged with contracting without a license

COLLIER COUNTY- A man and a woman were arrested for contracting without a license on Sunday, May 2 by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

Under Florida law, “it is a criminal offense to engage in contracting work or to act in the capacity of a contractor without a valid contractor’s license. Unlicensed contracting is a serious crime carrying misdemeanor or felony penalties, depending on the number of prior convictions.”

Detectives reported, “Daniel Louis Morin, 56, and Eileen Elizabeth Woods, 47, both of 100 Barefoot Williams Road Unit 91, wrote contracts to repair carports and house damage for four residents in Marco Shores Estates, but did little or no work. The contracts were written over a period of nine months starting in 2019 and totaled nearly $20,000.”

The investigation found Morin and Woods did not possess proper licenses to perform contracting work.

Deputies arrested the pair at their residence on warrants charging them with multiple counts of contracting without a license.
