Collier County’s Mask Mandate has expired

Posted

COLLIER COUNTY - Executive Order # 2020-07 issued on October 22, 2020 by the Collier County Commission mandating that individuals wear a face covering in public in certain circumstances has expired at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

While the expiration means that masks are no longer required by Executive Order to be worn in business establishments where social distancing is not possible, individual business establishments may continue to establish their own COVID-19 protocols for their customers and employees.

Based on CDC guidance, Collier County requires individuals who enter Collier County Government buildings to follow established protocols to help protect our employees and the public from potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Cooperation with this requirement is greatly appreciated as we continue working together to reduce the spread of the virus.

The Florida Department of Health continues to follow CDC guidance and recommends the use of masks to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The use of masks has been proven to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Wearing a mask does not replace other protective measures such as staying at least 6 feet away from others (social distancing), washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, as well as your face mask.

Remember: My mask protects you; your mask protects me.
