Alert Collier Notification for Persons with Special Needs

Posted

Collier County Persons with Special Needs (PSN) who have dated contact information in their records will be receiving a notification through the Alert Collier System on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., asking if they want their information to remain in the PSN database or if they want it removed from the system.

Collier County Emergency Management, in coordination with the Florida Department of Health (DOH) is migrating all PSN information from the historical database, to a new State DOH website/database. This project will provide the selected PSN population with an opportunity to be included in the new database or to be removed from it if it is no longer necessary.

The Alert Collier notification will be sent to the PSN’s first contact path(s) on file, such as landline, cellular phone, or email. The message will include a request to confirm receipt by either pressing a number on the phone or clicking a link within a text message or email. If no response is made within ten minutes, the system will move to the next contact path on file until receipt confirmation is provided or until the broadcast time is complete. Text messages will come from short code number 89361 or 87844; Emails will come from EMHumanServices@colliercountyfl.gov; and voice calls will come from (239) 252-3608.

For more information, contact William Lang at (239) 252-3624.
