OKEECHOBEE Okeechobee County continues to monitor Tropical Storm Eta.
Okeechobee County is committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens in response to Tropical Storm Eta.
Important Announcements for Okeechobee County:
• Okeechobee County is under a Flood Watch until Nov. 9 through this evening; and the county is
• Special Needs Shelter closed at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020. No residents used this shelter Sunday night.
• General Population and Pet Friendly Shelter closed at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020. No residents used this shelter Sunday night.
• Okeechobee Call Center will close at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2020.
• Okeechobee County Emergency Management will move back to modified Level 2 status at 10 a.m.
relative to Tropical Storm Eta; however, they will continue to maintain modified partial Level 2 for COVID-19
pandemic.
• County officials encourage all citizens to continue to maintain a storm supply kit for seven days and be prepared! Go to https://www.ready.gov/kit to build your kit if you do not have one. With the COVID-19 pandemic, you should also include in your kit, face mask, soap, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes.
