Motorcyclist killed in SR 29 crash

LABELLE -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on State Road 29 at Morris Taylor Road on May 3, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The accident occurred at 2:45 p.m., the report states.

A 60-year-old male from Milford, Delaware was driving a truck, towing a trailer, north on State Road 29, south of Morris Taylor Road.

At the same time, a motorcycle was traveling south on State Road 29.

The truck turned left into a private driveway, into the direct path of the motorcycle, the FHP report explains. The motorcycle collided with the trailer. The motorcyclist, a 36-year-old Naples man, was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The truck driver was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
